The weather at Ibiza: forecast for the airport and the island

Official forecast from AEMET for the airport district and the island’s three major destinations.

The weather at Ibiza and at the airport

The official forecast from the State Meteorological Agency for the four locations on Ibiza that matter most to travellers: the airport’s local authority area and the island’s three main destinations. It updates automatically.

When it comes to a flight, the most important thing to check is not the temperature but the wind. Ibiza Airport has a single runway, oriented 06/24, that is, from south-west to north-east: in strong crosswinds, landings become difficult, and that is when delays and diversions to Palma or Valencia occur.

Forecast by municipality

Sant Josep de sa Talaia — the municipality where the airport is situated

Eivissa — the capital and the port

Sant Antoni de Portmany — the west coast

Santa Eulària des Riu — the east coast

Frequently Asked Questions

If your flight is affected, check it on arrivals or departures, and bear in mind that bad weather is considered an exceptional circumstance for the purposes of compensation.

The island has a Mediterranean climate with very dry summers: rainfall is concentrated in autumn, particularly in October and November, just as the tourist season winds down. In July and August, rainfall is almost negligible.
