How to get from Ibiza Airport to Es Canar and Cala Nova
Es Canar, in the north-east, known for the hippy market at Punta Arabí.
It is 24.0 km in a straight line from the airport. By road it is a bit more: the figure that really counts is the bus journey time, which comes from the official timetable.
Es Canar and Cala Nova are in the north-east, and mark the edge of the AERO4: a few 60 minutes from the airport to Cala Nova, via Santa Eulària. It is the longest route of the five AERO lines.
From April to October, there’s one every hour; in winter, five a day. Es Canar is best known for the Punta Arabí hippy market, which runs during the season, so the bus and the market follow the same schedule: when one scales back, so does the other.

If the bus isn’t suitable for you
The advantage of the Es Canar and Cala Nova is that the bus runs all year round, so the problem is usually not the timetable but the time: there is no service outside the first and last departure times. During that gap, the only option left is the taxi —picking up passengers in front of the arrivals hall, without a booking, charged by the meter— or a private transfer at a fixed price.
And if you’re going to be travelling around the island a lot, compare prices first with a car hire: the ticket counters are located in the terminal itself, and no AERO services run to the northern and western coves.
