What is Ibiza Airport and where is it?
The Ibiza Airport (code IBZ, LEIB (for controllers) is in the municipality of Sant Josep de sa Talaia, at 7.5 km of Eivissa. It has a single terminal, a single runway and, in 2025, 9,138,224 passengers: 95 per cent of people travelling to Ibiza and Formentera come in or go out this way.

Frequently Asked Questions
Officially, Ibiza Airport — in Catalan, X26 Airport. It is not named after a person, unlike Barajas or El Prat. Its codes are IBZ (the one you can see on the suitcase and on the boarding pass) and LEIB (the one used by the controllers).
A 7.5 km from the centre of Eivissa. By bus, it takes about 20 minutes on the AERO2 and about 22 minutes on the AERO3 express; by taxi, it takes less time, depending on the traffic at the time of year.
The opening hours for the public are set by Aena and it’s a good idea to check their website before turning up there in the early hours, as they vary depending on the season. What you can check here, however, is the actual flight timetable: in summer, there are departures and arrivals spread across almost every hour of the day, whilst in winter the schedule is more concentrated and the early hours are practically empty.
