How to get from Ibiza Airport to Ibiza town and the port
Eivissa, the capital, with Dalt Vila and the ferry terminal from which boats depart for Formentera.
It is 6.7 km in a straight line from the airport. By road it is a bit more: the figure that really counts is the bus journey time, which comes from the official timetable.
Eivissa is not only the capital, but also the place on the island with the most accommodation and the point from which boats depart for Formentera, so it is the most common route from the airport. There are two ways to make the journey by bus, and they are not interchangeable: the AERO2 runs all year round, stops at Sant Jordi and ends at the bus station (CETIS), calling at the port on the way back; the AERO3 is the express service, links airport and port in 20 minutes and only runs from 1 May to 15 October.
If your accommodation is in Dalt Vila, the Marina or near the harbour, the AERO3 will drop you off practically on your doorstep during the tourist season. If you’re heading to the bus station area or need to connect to another route on the island, the AERO2 is the one for you.

If the bus isn’t suitable for you
Keep an eye on the timetable: the service to Ibiza town and the port does not run all year round, so out of season you’ll need to find another way to get there. The options are the taxi —stop in front of the arrivals hall, no booking required—, a private transfer, or get to Eivissa first on the AERO2 – which does run all year round – and change there.
And if you’re going to be travelling around the island a lot, compare prices first with a car hire: the ticket counters are located in the terminal itself, and no AERO services run to the northern and western coves.
